Willingly active seniors social group
Based in the Williamstown Senior Citizens Building on the corner of Melbourne Road and Ferguson Street
The “WASSP” program is a weekly social group for people who are over 55, physically independent, residence of Hobsons Bay. Each Monday, between the hours of 9.00am and 2.00pm. The centre based program, at the Williamstown Seniors Citizen’s Building (corner Ferguson Street and Melbourne road), which will include a variety of in house and outdoor activities. Companionship with community access is the theme for the group. Included in the program’s event is morning tea and a light lunch.
Examples of the variety in activities are, Tai Chi, chair based exercises, technology (IPad) game days, guest speakers, walks, team activities, and singalongs etc. Activity selection is steered by members feedback gathered at the end of each term.
The program provides members with opportunities to be both physically and socially active whilst undertaking meaningful skill based activities.
